Primary Responsibilities:
Identifying and establishing relationships with overseas suppliers for telecommunications equipment, services, and technologies.
Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, negotiate terms and agreements, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Managing the sourcing process, including supplier selection, RFQ (Request for Quotation), vendor evaluation, and supplier performance tracking.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as procurement, supply chain, and quality assurance to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
Developing strategies to optimize cost savings, improve supply chain efficiencies, and mitigate risks associated with overseas sourcing.
Monitoring industry trends, market dynamics, and geopolitical factors that may impact sourcing activities and recommend adjustments as necessary.
Maintaining strong relationships with overseas suppliers, resolving conflicts, and fostering partnerships for long-term mutual benefits.
Ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, trade policies, and ethical sourcing practices to uphold corporate social responsibility standards.
Key Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, international business, or a related field is often required. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP - Certified Supply Chain Professional) can be beneficial for career advancement.
Sourcing Knowledge: Strong understanding of procurement processes, strategic sourcing methodologies, supplier relationship management, and international trade regulations.
Industry Experience: Prior experience in sourcing or procurement within the telecommunications industry is highly desirable. Familiarity with Telco products, services, and technologies is a plus.
Cross-Cultural Communication: Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively liaise with overseas suppliers and partners from different backgrounds.
Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing with international vendors while ensuring win-win outcomes.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and financial modeling to support sourcing decisions and optimize cost savings.
Project Management: Experience in managing sourcing projects, coordinating timelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
Adaptability: Willingness to travel internationally, adapt to different time zones, and navigate diverse business environments.
Language Skills: Proficiency in Arabic and English, Chinese can be advantageous.
Ethical Standards: Commitment to ethical sourcing practices, compliance with legal requirements, and corporate social responsibility principles.
